Now that the carnage is over and the dust has cleared,
Did anyone add under 28?
I was busy at open today, but might've thought about 27.50, if I'd seen it(18%)
1.24 isn't bad and at 29 is still over a 17% yield.
While the declaration might have disappointed some spoiled traders,
the news of a 17-18% yield declaration may attract a slew of new buyers.
So, I missed yesterday's sale and today's buy.
I guess I'll hold. :)
What do you all think?
Do you hold your units of MLPs for many years? If you are short, your taxes must give you are a headache :). This invest ment (short term) does not seem like much of a gain after taxes. Does the taxes on MLPs concern you.
The reason I am asking all these questions is because I am intrested in MLPs and the taxes give my accountant advise against it. it could also mean I need new accountant.
Any idea how the taxes spread for short term.
I sold all nti at 29.91 today. In at 24.04.
About the only thing I did right this year besides LINE.
I am now looking for a pullback in the oilpatch because the glut will not clear for a while.
With some of the proceeds I bought WMC april 19.78 calls, in at 1.71. Added July 19.78's for 2.20. Sitting on 30% cash now until budgetary fight clears.
I am also highly leveraged in the pharma ALKS.
Exploring BMY exdiv puts.
Per the FSC algorithm by Doc, My short on exdiv just entered profitable territory.
Thanks to all for trading ideas.
Agree,at least for this quarter, because as you mentioned, of the 90 million oversold units which I hope reflects in their distribution price, also NTI's planned refinery shutdown.I''ve got my sell orders in on my options (NTI and CVRR)when they hit the highs they reached last week because we've see how volatile they are;one day you've got a double and the next you're back to break even.
I went ahead and sold for a 1.20 a share profit in AH the day they declared....I also thought to myself that CVRR would see negative pressure because of this and sold them as well (5.50 a share profit)......This morning I bought back in CVRR at 29.90 but thought NTI would continue to go down the rest of the week so I stayed away. Oh well can't win them all.
NTI up 32 cents in AH trading, hope it holds,I bought calls on a low bid that hit . I'm thinking we may see a higher number when CVRR reports distribution because it is the 1st quarter after IPO and may include leftover income from it.That's why NTI had a higher distribution last quarter;return of excess IPO cash;now it's CVRR's turn to shine;just seems logical to me.Yes?
you also realize they did all their updating and major shutdowns before ipo so it s going to be good for some time cvrr that is and yes they nhave 90 mil extra for oversold units. aldw pulled the sector down too. i m going for this one nti after next quarter after their big shutdown
I decided to sell NTI just now at 28.16.
I mishandled it from the start,
and still will take 12%.
NTI's getting to volitile for my taste(and nerves) and brings to mind my last summer's ill-fated MCP investment.
With MCP, I was up 25%.
Its pps sunk and I sunk in more...then more.
I lost a bundle.
About 1/3 of my trading account
NTI looks to be a growing company.
It currently pays a great dividend and yield(maybe).
I'll watch for possible future investment with NTI.
Good luck all,
I hope NTI does well for you,
