Does anyone know the logic behind the runup of pharmaceutical stocks

What is causing it? Is it Obamacare with lots of more money to drug the general population? Or did they all of a sudden they have a period of high innovation with lots of new drugs being approved or near approval? I am aware that previously the pharms started to use automated drug searching methods that they found were going nowhere and it caused them to have a period in which fewer new drugs were discovered. It seemed to be that they would go back to using more intelligent human involved methods to get out of that slump. Are we seeing the fruits of a paradigm shift in drug research methods?

Or were these stocks beaten down for so long that they had to rebound?
