Personal politics aside watching clips of the Prime Minister and hearing recollections from former US Cabinet Members reminds how few statesman currently court the national/international stage.
US wise; personally I think Condi has some of that stature and Hillary has risen beyond what seemed to be political adolescent naivety. Whence the US elects our first female president; I only wish we gain a Statesman who can arise above their own political expediency.
Does anyone know if any nation state/country has ever had a transgender leader?
Additionally, while I enjoyed Meryl’s acting performance in “Iron Lady”; I was disappointed from a historical viewpoint. But with a basic two hour movie time limit it would be hard to do justice without being a documentary presentation.
I really did not post this to enjoin a conversation. I may not even respond within thread. There seems to be too many posting on these Yahoo boards with excess testosterone levels to work down/off. Pun intended.

Honorable mention for Annette not; as we aware, succumbing to the influences that have seemed so common to younger stars. Thinking about it, include Brooke Shields. Maybe it takes parents not a village. Who would have thought!!
I have a lot of admiration for Germany's Chancellor Merkel. If she were an American running for President I would vote for her.
Germany is one of the few countries in Europe that has their act together. And the kind of socialism they have in Germany works there because it is not in their culture to eat their own. It works because the people don't abuse it. And other countries hate them for this. And Germans tend to condescend on other countries that try to get all they can for an individual at a cost to others because they see them as being corrupt and wrong minded.
The people in the US are nowhere close to being like the Germans. In Germany they tend to work for the benefit of the country as a whole rather than the individual. And this is why they are not so messed up like everyone else. And people deeply hate them for this. Misery loves company, not a glaring example of how to do it right in their face.
And I know that Hitler killed Jews but Hitler and all his accomplices are dead and gone. That was 70 years ago. And the German today doesn’t have a lot in common with the German back then in terms of those atrocities. They learned and moved on. In fact, they now think that Americans are more aggressive than they are today and they are probably right. The Germans are now pacifist. The desire for war was beaten out of them. And besides, wars now days are fought with trade and currency policies, not bombs, and that war they are winning hands down. The fact that they have lower productivity countries agreeing to share a currency with them is allowing them to massacre their competition.

Theresa Sparks might be a write in candidate for you Katy. Here is a little of his/her Bio.:
"She is a former president of the San Francisco Police Commission and former CEO of Good Vibrations"
I think she probably enjoyed her time at Vibrations.
Pretty random question you posited. Can we assume that you identify with the transgender lifestyle?
No I do not. It was just a curious thought that entered my thought train as I was posting. I would be surprised whether in most current societies if someone transgendered had the career building time required to become a qualified candidate. It would seem to me that person spends years consumed by their own struggles.
I was surprised by my mother within her last few years of life mentioning to me how awful it would be for someone to feel trapped in the wrong gender body. My mom had been a WWII wave and I asked her if maybe she knew someone in that situation. She answered possibly more than one person.
