I have lost my religion and I am a conservative. I used to be Catholic. But I agree that liberalism is a religion because so many are indoctrinated into it. How else can you explain that so many people will do things against their own interest for the sake of people that hate them after they have thought about the inequality between them? It is because they feel obligated because someone has convinced them that they should feel obligated.
Now if you simply say that they should feel obligated there is no guarantee that they will so you need to some kind of social ramification for choosing wrong. First you imply that you despise people who think differently so if they want your acceptance they will try not to be associated with those who are despised. This leads to a transformation of what they think is right and wrong as they find that adopting the indoctrination is positively reinforced with praise.
People are easy to control and once you come up with an indoctrination method that works well the followers will usually adopt it and use it on others while not even being consciously aware that they are doing so.
What I find the most interesting is when there are contradictions and the subconscious will cause people to automatically steer away from them because in the back of their mind they don’t want to have faced with the consequences. So rather than resolve the contradiction they pretend it does not exist. I find it fascinating to observe.
