    don't get mad

when I ask this question because it is just out of curiosity, but, what do you people think the potential is for Ligand in comparison to Isis. I know the technologies are different but, which do you feel has greater potential and why? thanks.

    • IMO the 2 companies are very similar as investments. ISIS even has an approved anti-sense drug for a very small market. Because anti-sense has so many protential applications, I believe that ISIS has the potential to be a much larger success. On the other hand many (most?) still believe anti-sense won't work well enough to be big. Ligand is therefore a less risky investment.

I'm a long term holder of LGND. I'd been out of ISIS since their Phase III failure. I traded in and out of ISIS last week with a very lucky 45% gain.

Antisense technology still needs proof of principle which means ISIP still in need of proof of principle. Had LGND had no products in the market just like 80% of other Biotech companies, it can easily hype up its potential and stock might have already in $50 range if not in $100 range.
