The quarterly reportings are dribbling in. LSV Asset remains one of the bigger holders as of 9/30, having sold only 3,150 shares from the 1,997,362 it held on 6/30. Surprisingly (to me, at least) Vanguard is hanging in although it sold 22,785 shares from its 6/30 position. But Vaughan Nelson in Texas clearly had enough during the quarter and blew out its entire 1,868,180 share holding. Still waiting to see what Columbia is holding, along with Luxor and BHR and Dimensional, among others.
While interesting to note, institution buying/selling is not a reason to follow them. They are usually late to move, their motives for buying/selling have almost nothing to do with value, and the they tend to send the pps way below or way above the fair value due to the oversize of their trades. All they do is provide trading opportunities. If the reason TWGP is so low is because institutions have sold that is not an indictment of of the trade. It may make way for an opportunity either way. I can't count how many times an institution or large analyst left a position thus driving it down way past the fair value only for it to recover on fundamentals. Then after it recovers fundamentally the institution jumps back in. That's usually when I exit.
