Thanks for your post on a previous string. I agree with your comments completely. I wanted to add, however, that I have absolutely no gripe with short sellers. As you say, two people can have valid reasons for holding opposite opinions about a stock. I value a sound, reasonable short argument as much as any long argument. In fact, there have been times when I've switched my position on a stock because a short seller made a compelling case against my long holdings. And there are times I SHOULD have listened to a short seller's argument, and lost because I continued to hold long.
My gripe is with mindless bashing, insulting, and opinion-spouting without evidence. Unfortunately, that is all I have been seeing recently on this board from short sellers. A few months ago, a poster who identified himself/herself to be a doctor made a strong case against this stock based on the predisposition of pathologists and oncologists to refuse to order the tests because they would lose income. They make extra dollars by doing the testing the "old fashioned" way. THAT argument sent a chill up my spine for several reasons, but mainly because I do not have the knowledge to refute it.
Lately, however, the short sellers here have offered nothing other than the familiar arguments against management, which we who have held ROSG a long time know all too well already. Management made mistakes, they are human. I'm willing to watch them closely and see if they can rectify those past mistakes with solid moves in the present, and I am seeing those positive moves. Whether they will be successful or not, is anyone's guess. We're back to the idea that two people can have two very different, and reasonable, opinions about the same company.
