Meredith looking to buy magazines from Time Inc.

Looks like they mainly want People, InStyle etc...

I think this is a pretty big positive for DMRC...mainly because Meredith is a leader in implementing technology like watermarks...many of their mags use DMRC technology....while the magazines at Time Inc. do not use these technologies as far as I know...not sure which other mags they are buying, reportedly time and sports illustrated are not part of the deal.

    • from a bloomberg article it mentions that they are looking to JV or form a new company consisting of Meredith and all of time inc mags except time, fortune, and SI. So if thats true there would most likely be an additional 18 mags that could start using dmrc technology (if they don't already, but regardless the technology will be used more effectively by Meredith management....in the bloomberg article it even cites that Time inc had a tough time with transition from print to digital, interactivity, etc...

Discover/Guardian and potential market may be materializing faster than I thought...
