I have been watching the Kinder's for awhile now and was scared to put any in my Roth IRA,but have read an article on seeking alpha that KMI has no K-1 and is good to put in it without any tax issues.Does anyone know for sure if it is all right to buy for a Roth? Thanks.
I have been in kmp since 1996-1997. it is reliable, to say the least. i have all 3 in my roth: kmi; kmp; and kmr. i have kmp from the old days in my trading account, but have also added more over the years to my roth. I've been in the market since 1996 and this is the only stock i would never sell. i just keep adding. i am waiting for the copano news to drop kinder so i can add more shares.
Sold my position in KMI took a small profit, bought LNCO, which throws a larger dividend 7.5% although issues a 1099.
Since its in a Roth, there's no tax consequence either way.
I have a larger taxable position in KMR and just wanted to spread my risk a little.
