I really liked LNCO.... and maybe again in the future. I made a lot of money with LNCO and lost a lot of money with LNCO. With all the lawsuits going along with the SEC investigation and the merger "if ish".... I had to get out and sit back for a while. I think KMI and the like has much more promise at this point. I certainly wish Linn Energy the best.
I usually sell all of mine right before it goes ex then I place a GTC order at twice the dividend rate. Only once did it not work out but I am far ahead then if I would of let it ride. This works great in an IRA but if you hold it in a cash account look at your taxes. If you have it in a 401(x) plan and can more the stock into a cash account at the cost of the stock just let it ride.
I've owned KMI or its predecessor acquired corporations for over 30 years, and expect that KMI stock will be included in my estate several decades from now, if the company isn't broken up somehow. Does anyone with a "really large" fortune actually trade the way Cramer wants people to?
My son is currently going to college, funded mostly by the KMR in his college fund which I think returned something like 17% annualized return from elementary school through high school. He's currently taking out student loans instead of selling KMR, so hopefully he will be able to hold onto some shares after he graduates, pay down the loans, and let the KMR compound tax-deferred.
The KMI and KMI warrants are for me, btw.
EP, if they did the IRS would have most of their fortune !!..Cramer is simply a pimp/shill for Brokers and Hedge Funds..He knows the Business and can be informative about how the "street " works, but he's not there to make YOU $$ ...
