Share price has done practically nothing since last offering unlike most MREITs which dip then spring back soon thereafter. CIM which was up again today may unleash another offering at anytime, yet investors trust in the management to come thru with Qtly. numbers and support share price even with an offering lurking. Investors fear CYS which is why share price hasn't moved. Once CYS releases thier numbers, which is a scary event as witnessed by the Q3 sell-off, share price should move fast one way or the other. Bottom Line is Investors do not trust CYS as much they do most other MREITs which is factored into the 19%, stagnant share price and high short interest.
Time will tell, of course, whether mgmt. can be trusted. My take is that if they say during a conference call that the $0.60 dividend is secure, then it is. To say so boldly and then not back it up would be the kiss of death for this company. I am banking that the CEO is not that dumb or careless.
