Season Passes offered on CME as Vail purchases and turns green!

    What's the possibility?

Vail Resorts buys CME - Colorado Mountain Express.

What are the chances that unsold seats will be opened up to commuters from the metro area at designated stops in good will to offset higher gas prices for day trippers? - slim to none?

    • Slim to none is correct (my opinion). Why would a guest be ok paying if he knows a frontranger was riding for free? There are definitely issues here that may not pass regulatory approval. CME supports a number of ski resorts and I'm not sure they will be comfortable allowing a VRI shuttle to be the only shuttle out of DIA to Summit/Eagle counties.

hehe .... we are surrounded by subsidized marketing plans. For years frontrangers paid deep discount rates via season passes as others paid near window prices. Welcome the EPIC PASS...

Anyway imagine the lesson in culture that a Manhattanite/International traveler would get when a group of boarders pile into a van with a mom and her kids and then drop the F-bomb for an hour and a half --- and you thought sharing a chair with a 'rider' was eye opening.
