Will MTN have a big earnings miss on Wednesday?
Sure seems like they could. I still think it is a ghost town out there, and getting worse. Kind of like Vegas. All of the flights to the east coast and back are empty. I think there is a good chance they will miss the quarter and so the stock could probably trade down again.
The forecast for next week is pretty crappy, too. Not much fresh powder and then a warming trend. Isn't that what brings out the beetles or whatever makes the trees look all gross?-
no short shares available that I can find. Scott or Etrade. Is that an indication?

It's always interesting to read the posts of those who seem to know it all. Las Vegas is not as dead as is portrayed by "those in the know". Although slower than the past few years there is still business. Come sit in the traffic on the strip with me any evening. Come on...if you are going to post be truthful.

More important will be the huge reduction in guidance. Will be a big rush for the exits this afternoon. JMO.

It's really not that bad out here. It's slowER but not dead by any means. Every powder day maxes out the parking in Vail and BC (cant speak for the other mountains) and real estate hasn't fallen nearly as far as the rest of the country... Still not pretty but compared to the horror stories from Vegas I feel like we're in a bubble so far.
This summer will be the ghost town. It's gonna look like the 80's off seasons again, as in light switch OFF. Corporate events are the off seasons bread and butter here.
