Amazes me that despite the nonperforming assets nearly doubling from a year ago, that nothing changes internally. I'll grant that their #s are better than many banks but someone needs to be accountable for the decline--at least at the other banks, you see new blood coming in to better manage the situation, i.e. someone is held accountable--maybe it will be addressed at the annual meeting---one can only hope!!!
TO: oldsmarties Do you really think it reasonable to expect that CBSH would not have some effect from the current environment? Your message strikes me as someone with an idealistic vision of the world that doesn't exist. CBSH has show a long history of very conservative operations, perhaps too much so, resulting in a good but not exceptonal record of profit growth. Perhaps you should find an investment that takes no risk at all. WW
I do have several more conservative stocks in my portfolio. Until the past year, I had always felt the Commerce was one of them. I think at your age, I would now throw you into the category of need new blood on this stock board, just like my earlier comment about risk management.
I have now gotten out of the Commerce position so perhaps you can complain to yourself in the future as many older citizens do. Better luck investing!!!
