In case you missed it, Goldman out this weekend with a piece warning on overpriced PC stocks which includes STX at #9. Same old, same old talk of the death of the hard drive, yet no mention of the growth of cloud storage which is expected to be 80% on HDDs. Maybe Goldman also overlooked both firm's efforts in SSDs AGAIN?
FYI, 18 months Goldman only under estimated FY13 drive firm earnings by about a factor of two and has remained neutral as both STX & WDC went to record highs. LOL, but their hedge fund clients always pay well for their help supporting a short thesis.
Now that their warnings aren't being followed and their clients that shorted both stocks are getting killed, I wouldn't be surprised if they state talking about the heavy rains in southeast Asia. Are more floods coming to these stocks. Maybe Mother Nature will come to their aids. Shorts, get ready to start paying those high dividends.
