Anyone know? Seems logical that they would, but I see that their are no branches there or not anywhere in west TX that is. Strange...
I can't post the whole article but here is the part relevant to your question.

FIVE QUESTIONS WITH DICK EVANS;
Banker explains the Frost strategy
BYLINE: SHANNON BUGGS, STAFF
Q: Frost's slogan is "We're From Here," but its branches can't be found in
every Texas town. Why?
A: We operate only in the major markets in Texas - Houston, Dallas, Fort
Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley.
That's not accidental. I grew up in Uvalde. My wife is from an even smaller
town, Rock Springs. I love rural Texas. But we operate where 70 percent of the
population is and where the average income is $3,000 to $5,000 greater than the
total average of Texas and where the growth of Texas is taking place.
essentially they want to be where the wealth is located.
How many words qualifies as a "diatribe".
At first I thought he was talking about a subset of the Comanches or somethin'.
Janus...You are the ETERNAL MORON..."why doesn't CFR expand into El Paso?" Why not actually BUY SOME OF THE STOCK...GO TO THE ANNUAL MEETING...and then ask Dick Evans?
You're pathetic!
I am a former owner of Overton Bancshares...bought out by Frost...and I want you to know that your WORTHLESS DIATRIBE IS BEING WASTED ON THIS WEBSITE...WHY NOT TRY THE OLD WAY...OWNING STOCK...AND BITCHING AS TO HOW THINGS OUGHT TO BE? Your Pal...Alan Lenell...
Wow - Sounds like someone needs a Happy Meal!
Hey our pal Alan - As your friend Rosie once said to Donald
Sit and spin!
I'd say the former shreholders of Overton Bancshres are better off with CFR rather staying with the status quo. So much for my diatribe.
You launched the diatribe. I am a shareowner.
Good luck and good bye.
haha
have you been to El Paso lately?
I think cfr just wants to expand in Texas.
Can't the same thing be said about San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley, which they just expanded into? The fact of the matter is that El Paso is one of the largest metro areas in the lone state which CFR operates in. Seems like a pretty easy decision to me, but what do I know.
