There's Nothing so Sweet as Fear Subsiding...

... except that in the case of CT since the conference call, it's been somewhat "time released".

It would seem that a lot of investors made a lot of decisions over the weekend.

    • ... plays well into CT's capital structure as well as the fortunes of commercial real estate.

I'd say the same thing about banks but they're still dealing with forclosures and their tier-1 ratios so that's a tough sector. The only bank I'm currently in is Private Bank (Chicago) whereas I'm enjoying the returns of 2 other BDCs besides CT.

    • ... although I do have tremendous respect for accomplished poker players, I'm a one trick pony myself... just like Bill Gross.

    • correction: "squealer"

      new that didn't feel right....

      lol.

hoping it wasn't a big loss for you; but, you know Spok with all the sharing that you soooooo generously do for others &&& really try to help on many of the yahoo boards...it'll all come back double or triple....

keep keeping in touch with all of us "little" guys out here. lol. smiling.

      goos.

    • hey Spok, thanks, Spok, pulled the trigger in the low 3sssssssss &&& glad it finally happened...

Had been studying quite a bite && got greedy hoping it would go lower &&& then finally pulled the trigger...

Sure glad i did &&& thanks for your dd &&& sharing..

      Sorry about the "poker"
swealer...as i know with your thinking &&& great mind with memory, you would have banked it....although, if you think about it, with times the way they are economically, the guy was in all probability a "plant" being paid to do just exactly what he did...

Doesn't help what happened, but, you know Spok it tells you in another small way what is happening...

anyways, glad to have you back &&& keep on walking..don't look back.

      goos.

    • ... front-running the restructuring deal, goos.

    • ... another player ever ratted me out.

The guy was eccentric and the dealer said he was a regular so I guess he felt some kind of attachment to the place.

You'd think that if he was that astute that he'd be counting as well but there was scant evidence he had anything on the game.

      • ... the current, renewed focus on banks is something I like to see for all BDCs including CT. BDCs are doing things banks are having trouble with these days and it presents more opportunity for them. With the encumberance slate clean for CT now, I anticipate they'll be doing more deals going forward and the steep yield curve benefits such deals as much as it does for the banks.

      • ... and it been nice to see my personnel pick surging as well (Volt) on the basis of recent employment reports. It seemed to get a particularly good boost from last week's new claims report.

So you know, Volt also has a pending fear factor... mixed up timing on revenue realizations that have held up the statements for well over a year. An SEC inquiry into that one added to the investor anxiety. Once they announce the resolution, I'm anticipating that the elimination of "fear of the unknown" could provide some pop with it too....it may depend on how far the current surge goes, however.

You seem so nice, Goos... you seem like someone I should meet sometime... don't know why I feel that.

    • Seems as though I owe you another round...glad I got back in at $3. Maybe I'll see you at the Venetian/Palazzo sometime.

      • ... I havn't suggested CT's a sell since the low $2s before the restructure. Still don't.

I'm an "investor/contrarian"... meaning that I'm the opposite of a "trader/momentum-investor". I'm rarely in, then out, then back into something within the timeframe of a given business/economic/product cycle that may have originally driven the investment decision.

Glad to hear it's working out for you. I'm in Vegas from late 4/20 until 4/25... we'll be climbing Mt. Charleston from 4/21 to 4/22 and counting cards the rest of the time.

        Spok
