..smart phones will lay on the shelves, only dumb phones will work in developing economies.MOTR focus on that, reduce costs by 50%, layoff la this stupid and useless management and go where the action is. And become a cash machine finally.
I hate to tell you guys - but you need to WAKE UP.
The only countries that are still using dumbphones - are in the APAC region - and their economies are booming.
Due to their economies booming - they are rapidly jumping to smart phones faster than the uptake rate in the US. The only thing holding back users in converting to smart phones in APAC are the maturity of the networks there - the smart play is in the network equipment providers - not the old world dumb phone app managed services.
Motricity's biggest problem from the onset has been their overreliance on dumb phone revenue to fund a management team who invested in the wrong businesses (including pocketing a lot of your share wealth).
IF and only IF they sell off the dumb phone division - and really plow into the mobile marketing product suite will they have a chance. If they do not - and one of the big carrier customers pull out the rug - we are headed to the pink sheets.
Yep, these underdeveloped ones will eagerly rush to buyoo dumb phones with MOTR useless crap preinstalled and services supplied on how to better change oil and gold of theirs to cans of coke and beads, right?
MOTR to da moon!!! There are sure should be a lot of dumb people with gold in those countries to save those dumb people in US who bought MOTR above $2.
