Peter, Let's not forget the increase in Institutional ownership as well. An increase in short position is always cause for concern, shorts generaly do their homework more thoroughly than longs but they can be wrong too and a short squeeze can be a beautiful thing.
A short position is not always what it looks like , many institutional longs if they feel market or stock has exhausted upside move they will box / short against a portion of their long with intentions on a pull back of buying stock back / closing out short. If stock continues to move higher they are long a commensurate amount of shares / loose some stock.
Anything is possible that would blind side me too. What i could see them doing if they wanted additional cash for their balance sheet for growth is on a one off basis if one or a few large respectable Blue Chip buy side vehicles wanted in on this space sell them 500,000 shrs or 1 million shares i don't think this need to put in the time and energy to do a dog and pony roadshow. They have institutions that have been following them and their space for a while now. The cost of this additional capital is dilution company did just increase line of credit with their lender to i believe close to 10 million.
