I just got a 24 count variety pack (4 bottles of 6 flavors) at Sam's club for only $17.44 (that's only $.726 per bottle!!) They had a whole pallet of it. What a deal! I loved the Green Apple soda, will try the rest soon.
I'm sorry, I've been long Jones, but $17.44 for a case of soda is ridiculous.
I get Heineken for $22 and change.
12 packs of Pepsi 4 for $11.00 at Publix.
There are not enough rich soda drinkers to justify those prices.
Idiot, it's 24 bottles for $17.44, that's $.726 per bottle, they are selling this at Panera and Ruby Tuesday for at least $2.99 each, so get a clue.
Sure, we can all get a case of beer for cheap, yet people will still pay $4 for a bottle at a bar.
You can go on Sams website (www.samsclub.com) to see which Sams are carrying Jones. Go to Soft drinks, then variety. By punching in various state locations, etc., you can see Jones is carried in a lot of Sams (not in TX yet, unfortunately). CA, CO, PA, NY, among others all carry the 24 bottle variety pak. This will be big news on the conference call coming up...just shows what doing your own dew diligence can serve. Making me feel pretty good about adding more shares last week.
may 3rd is coming and a lot of new customers are trying jones for the first time. they will probably give better guidance based on sales volume happening right NOW.
think about it. may 3rd will give both earnings for jan feb mar. and guidance for 2nd and 3rd q. double hammer. going to 35.60 after may 3rd.
Love their slogan:
"Run with the little guy...create some change."
Jones Soda spotted in Sam's Club for UNDER $1.00 a bottle, UNDER $.80.... can't even get a can of Coke from a vending machine for that price. What a steal!!!!!
Jones is at both Sam's in Fishkill, NY and BJ's in Wappinger's Falls, NY. My wife and I went the BJ's last night and they had literally just sold out. I asked the store manager and she said another shipment is expect tomorrow. She said and I quote "It's been a really hot seller lately".
It's been at atleast some Sam's clubs in the Pittsburgh area for some time. I asked a lady doing demo's on something else how the new Jones was selling. She said not much - but that they had just gotten in. She said that when they smaple stuff is when it really sells.
This was probably a month ago.
This lady's job is to hand out sample's. I don't know if Jones would drive the sampleing and absorb the cost or not. Since it's really Wal-Mart I'd assume that Jones would incur all costs. Have they ever run sampling campains?
I was at the Easton, PA Sam's. The pallet was located at the end of a frozen aisle and caught my eye immediately. The issue is, most people have never heard of Jones Soda, and are not going to be willing to pay $17.00 for a case of soda that they have never heard of. The cashier commented that she liked the soda though, so that was good to hear.
We just need to recommend it by word of mouth for now until they start advertising or running sales in Target, Sam's, and people in Panera and (from what I hear, Ruby Tuesday) start talking it up.
Another option to drive our share prices up is a buyout, of which there has been some talk on the boards about Pepsi. I think a more suitable buyout would come from Cadbury Schweppes, who with their Snapple brand, really has the experience bringing a little know brand to national recognition.
