    Earnings Release?

There may be a reason for it industry wise, but why does it take a 16 Mil company nearly 2 1/2 months to release earnings after Qtr close?

    • Thanks for providing some humor here.

    • If you had a clue about publicly traded companies' responsibility you'd know they must present an Audited Statement of their financial activites for the full year not just a 3 month performace over the 4th quarter. That takes time. That lack of knowledge seems to run wild on this board about even basic rules, facts and trading history. Actually this is a relatively fast time to complete the audit. Prior years saw the number filed on the 27th and 30th of March. Educated guessing would leave some to conclude that things are better than they have been in the previous two years. Better can mean a slight improvement on the revebue side and better expense management control. The real key to market price direction from here will be any forward looking projections.

      • -You are an "interesting" personality here. There's certainly more knowledgeable "investors" here than me, but you have no idea of my background.
-With my limited time, I did some quick research of a complete opposite scenario, as in a large company. So I looked at INTC, 50+ Bil in revenue, and certainly a more complicated audit than our small 16 Mil company in comparison.
-INTC - "The "January 16th" earnings release financials are unaudited. The audited financials were released as part of the 10-K and filed with the SEC on "February 14", 2014. This includes the full year for 2013 as well."
-Relatively fast?...Maybe relative to their history, but I wouldn't guess that to be the case compared to many companies reporting 12/31 Qtr and annual results?
-I disagree with your "educated guess". My educated guess would be less personnel, cost savings, smaller CPA firm in Peterson Sullivan vs a globally staffed Big 4, or maybe an antiquated accounting system that they can't afford to upgrade, or maybe not even fully integrated so it has to be pieced together? Maybe INTC even audits Qtrly, but at minimum a Review?, but still, that's 13 Bil+ in revenue just for the Qtr. Regardless, personally, I wonder why it can't be shortened
-"The real key to market price direction from here will be any forward looking projections" - I don't know what you think you've been looking at in the past but when has anyone last seen a Jones projection????? On top of that, I know for a fact that hasn't been done for years because I asked JC about that very topic. So I guess you think they will be changing their policy this reporting? Maybe? But I'll just say good luck with that hope?
        - And you're wrong about last year:
Wednesday, February 27, 2013 - Jones Soda Announces Fiscal 2012 Fourth Quarter and Year-End Earnings Conference Call.....March 7th 2013. The 10k was then filed on 3/26/13. So unless the 10k is filed on Thursday, your "educated guess" is down the tubes.
        What else?

      • Agree....
