    • Obviously, it is difficult to say how much, if any, of the recent price decline is due to upcoming bad news or just the fact that MTW is following the rest of the market decline.

As ususal it will come down to what Terry has to say about the future. Is the world economy slowing? Are companies(building, refrigeration, ice, etc) reducing orders? What, if any, are the back orders?

Part of me says that the recent market decline is over done. Fears of no end in gas prices and out of control inflation are fueling the decline. Nvertheless, when I speak to my friends who are in the construction, manufacturing, medical and retail business, they all say the same thing -- business is great! It is as if the market is ignoring any good news and perseverating on the bad -- kind of like the news media when it comes to the economy and the Iraqi war.

Any of you who work for the comapny. How is business? What about back orders? Has the demand for cranes slowed in Asia and Europe?

Hindsight will be 20/20 on whether we should have been sellors or buyers at this time. Barring that Growcock does not tell us that orders have "suddenly" dried up, MTW is a good buy at these prices. Good Luck to all!

      • More Good News from Bay Shipbuilding!
Headlines of the current issue of the Door Co. Advocate state "BAY SHIP ANNOUNCES BARGE CONTRACT--Barges will keep Shipyard Hopping Until 2006."."
The contract is "to build another sophisticated barge . . . for American Transport Leasing . . . . About 75 to 100 more workers . . . will be needed to complete all the work scheduled at the yard." The article goes on to note that "In addition to the new barge, Bay Ship crews are working on three petroleum barges which will be delivered later this year."
This certainly bodes well for MTW. Good luck Kent and all longs!
