I can definitely see a buyout or merger in GLUU's future

At this level, wouldn't surprise me to see WYNN, Sands or MGM trying to partner or YHOO or even ZNGA trying to partner with GLUU under a single label. On-line gaming is going to rocket this stock more so than ZNGA in my opinion. GL

You guys talking takeover are living in La-La land. As long as GLUU languishes in the $2's, there will be NO deal. NOBODY pays 3-4 times current market value in a takeover.

Bottom line, GLUU will have to stop the cash burn, grow revenues and report positive earnings to generate any takeover interest. If this management can pull that off, the stock will rally to $5+ and a deal will then be possible. Until then, nobody is foolish enough -- not even ZNGA -- to buy this floundering albatross.

    • If so, the price would be well north of here since De Masi said several times last year when asked about it that they would "aspire" to get the IPO price, which puts it in double digits...However, he also mentioned in Pocket Gamer interview last year that an acquirer would have to write a $500M check. I would say the price has gone up given recent developments and Glu can definitely get past it's own 52-week high on it's own if their projections come to pass in the coming months. Either way, based on the current lay of the land I'd venture to say they wouldn't even talk for less than 7 bucks a share...Given the high stakes in the ongoing mobile/smartphone wars in China, Glu is positioned perfectly to be acquired. Remember too that Lorne Abony was brought on as Chairman of "Strategy Committee" recently and has a well documented, storied career as a dealmaker and took one of his own gaming companies from a couple mil, to sell it for around $500M. He's an impressive guy and his expertise is ideal and a great fit for Glu...
