Torch, What Are You Talking About?

The only insider selling I see is Jerry Pitner
back in May. He is one of the founders simply cashing
out for his retirement. None of them will sell when
the floor has been so clearly set at 30+. Now that
this base is set, up is the only way we can go! If you
are in, stay in. If you are out, get in while you
still can at this price. We are going up from here for
sure. In a year, everyone will wish they could still
    get Plexus for $30.00!

    • As I recall PLXS in previous conference calls indicated they were leaving the low margin IBM business and I would expect by now that the programs are near end.

    • Erroneous news sends the stock down, provoking favorable, much needed analyst attention. May be just what this undervalued stock needs. jh

      <<AM
      Oct-11 99 Needham & Company, Inc. PLXS
      NOT AFFECTED
      BY ASCEND CUTBACK;REITERATE BUY
      Stock declined
11% on 10/8 due to Lucent/Ascend cutting back chip
      suppliers.
      * PLXS does not supply the TNT program at Ascend
      that prompted the cutback.
      * PLXS supplies the
GX550/250 ATM switch programs that are not affected.
      *
Demand is very strong for the core PLXS business led by
      Lucent and Siemens
      Medical with significant new
customers to be announced when FQ4 earnings are
      reported
      on October 26.
      * We believe that PLXS will meet
our EPS estimate for FQ4 of $0.40 on $131 MM
      in
      revenue.
      * Our target valuation is $45-50 based on EPS for
      calendar 2000 of $2.00.>>

      ...For some time
in the 80's IBM was a large part of the Plexus
customer base. IBM therefore should be noted for their
contribution to the growth of Plexus. Now in the late 90's,
IBM is a very small percentage in the Customer base.
Due to the vast expanse in the high technology &
electronics field, Plexus has many more significant contracts
with other leaders in the industries of Communication,
      Medical, Transportation, Networking and others!

...and if IBM were to be cutting their workforce it
would only mean more work contracted out to companies
      like Plexus,

      I
believe It would take a technology crash for one of these
      companies to largely affect Plexus.

      ...and if IBM
were to be cutting their workforce it would only mean
more work contracted out to companies like Plexus.

    • See the Robbie Stephens upgrade news. The selling
pressure came in response to HI/FN announcing that LU was
delaying orders. PLXS has much LU business. Therefore fear
that PLXS would be seeing a sales
      slowdown.

Since sales growth is the primary hangup on PLXS, this
would be a serious problem. But CFO Tom Sabol has said
that sales are growing, not sliding. Therefore, my
opinion is unchanged, long on PLXS

    • no information of Plexus there, and it took
forever to get out! perhaps you could summarize for us
whatever was supposed to be relevant to this stock since i
still have no clue why it is going down - only that it
has been one of my bigger disappointments this year,
as if SeaMED weren't disappointment enough.

    • Needham made very positive comments on this stock today

      target 45- 50

    • hope to see somewhat of a turnaround on this share of the market been http://www.bizwstead.htmlplanet.com/?plxs/list/artc9876.txt will be watching in the near future will be watching as the week

    • IN MY OPINION, IS BECAUSE IBM reported cutbacks
in their workforce. IBM provides Plxs with a rather
large percentage of work, therefore, investors figured
the cutback would negatively affect earnings for
      Plxs.
