Trying to make a positive out of the CFO leaving is just to funny. Not as bad as he CEO jumping ship, but still a big read flag. Major officers don't leave suddenly when a company is doing well. They would announce that they are retiring 6 months or more out so the company would have time to look for a replacement. Keep it up. I need a good laugh in the morning.
I can't imagine anyone making this as good news. However, if you are in this for the longer run then selling just because the CFO quit without any idea of the reasons doesn't make sense either. If I were looking to buy, I might wait a few more days to see if something else transpires, but to just up and sell makes very little sense either without any facts.
