why short the shares?? write options. You will do much better with that than shorting anyway. With shorting, there are several impediments you could encounter: short squeeze, naked shorting, etc. Writing options, you collect the premium, lock in profits and assure yourself of gaining on the transaction.
RIG can easily go up or down $5.00 in thirty days. If you are looking for a sure thing short-term, RIG is not your play. I've been trading RIG for 18 months now and it's always been a roller coaster for me.
If I to do those last 18 mos of RIG trades, I would go to my local casino and put it on Red or Black. RIG has been the same as roulette for me.
BUT...I continue to think I am smarter than the rest and have a lot of Nov call options and now am a little more confident on the up $5 in 30 days. ie. Good earnings last qtr, good utilation rates, etc..
