    intangible assets and goodwill

Anyone owning adbe stock concern about its growing intangible assets and goodwill? Adbe's is 2-3x more than its real assets. Acrobat and macromedia software is old and legacy software but its valued as if its brand new technology that can generate billions of dollar for the company. I don't see how the company can justify carrying 4bil in intangible assets and goodwill in the foreseeable future.

    • Acrobat is not legacy software. It's a current standard.

Now, the goodwill may look scary since it's 1/4 of market cap, but nobody's going to take it very seriously. That mostly just says the brand is valuable. If you want to check the asset story, follow the money: look at liquid assets and LTD, which comes out to essentially zero. The assets are not important for ADBE, never have been. It's a growth story.
