I no longer own ADBE (sold it all around $31 and bought APPL at $560, which turned out to be a great move) but I continue to work with Flex/Flash and follow the company. This is the first earnings report since I sold and I am going to predict a miss. That is because while Creative Cloud may eventually turn out to be a good idea for Adobe's bottom line, I don't think customers have been subscribing in high numbers. Adobe extended the August 31 cut-off date for the $29/month first-year upgrade offer. And they offered 10% off the box set of CS6 at the beginning of September. I wonder if this is showing their hand that they are having a hard time getting customers to upgrade this time. I decided to stick with CS5.5 for my contracting business for now. In any case, we will find out this afternoon.
Well we know they will miss given the consistent last 4 quarter track record but how is tonight and tomorrow 's market going to interpret any guidance? Lately market rewards any one who "disappoints" less than expected....and promises to do the same or very little more next quarter.
