Anyone here who have seen more than the note below, do they have a valid point or is their bear thesis as stupid as the one from The StreeSweeper?
"Coronado trial likely to demonstrate no benefit, says Summer Street
Summer Street believes Coronado's Trichuris suis ova, which is in a phase II clinical trial as a potential treatment of Crohn’s disease, will likely no benefit or a benefit that is not clinically important."
I looked hard online yesterday and couldn't find more than the same note, which I thought unusual. At worst though you have about 6-7 analysts then bullish, with Summer the only negative opinion. I am not a conspiracy theorist by nature but a few things which I will not go into lead me to believe that shorts are developing a plan B for positive results, which is to argue that whatever positive results come out are not really statistically significant. I also think it will be easy to counter their argument by comparisons to clinical Remicade results etc. (Harlan knows the numbers), so not too worried on that front.
I wonder if they may base their bear thesis on the interim report from the German study:
"Falk has advised they are adopting the committee’s recommendations to increase the
sample size and to conduct a subsequent interim analysis at the time the trial reaches
approximately 250 patients."
This does sounds negative for those with a shallow DD.
I must say that I'm a bit impressed by the level of "risk tolerance" the shorts have...
