    • Here's what the company said on February - that's not 12 cents and any profit is probably not doable:
"Himax Technologies, Inc. Provides First Quarter 2013 Financial Guidance
Company Projects Revenues for the Quarter to Decline by High-Single-Digit to Low-Teens in Percentage; Gross Margin to be Slightly Up; GAAP EPS to be Between 6.5 to 7.5 Cents Per Diluted ADS; and Non-GAAP EPS to be Between 7.0 to 8.0 Cents Per Diluted ADS"

Doesn't look like 12 cents AND how do you have revenue fall "high single digits to low teens" and still make a profit. Tricky.

      • For perspecitve, the guidance you quoted is based upon the 4th quarter of 2012 which was well up. The first quarter they guided included a week off for Chinese New Years. And, if you read the 4Q 2012 conference call, they are projecting very strong growth in the 2nd half of 2013.

So, I bought more at $2.87 and am holding my shares from $1.50 and $1.90.

HIMX is projected for over $800 million this year and over $1 billion next year at over $0.42/share while paying a dividend. This will be well over $6 in early 2015 or 2 years from now. That is 40%/year gains and I will be retiring with that.
