Fire...? CNBC has mentioned a fire at a HIMAX plant twice this AM
#$%$ is going on? CNBC has mentioned a fire at a HIMAX plant twice this AM, and indicated that's the reason for the run up of other semi-conductors? Can't find anything anywhere, and HIMX is running up like crazy? Makes no sense at all?
Fire was at SK Hynix factory, not Himax. Hynix is a big DRAM manufacturer. Their two primary competitors are Micron and Sandisk. Speculation is that the fire will drive DRAM prices much higher due to tight supplies. Micron is way undervalued. Trading at $14 and will earn $3 next year BEFORE the fire.
