to all those blindly bashing a different strategy, (they all work if you know how to implement them) A short in the High 8's this am would have netted ~.60 per share this am ALREADY. More than I made on this stock this AM...
I have to ask myself if the people shorting tsla when they had their massive run up were posting like you are as you guys keep adding fuel to our beautiful bonfire known as himx. As a long I can only sip my coffe and watch the flame show.

You don't short a stock during a breakout run... esp. if news is pending... esp right before a weekend. You're better off "speculating" with options for plays like this. Just because the STREET doesn't have news, doesn't mean there isn't any... don't kid yourself... we don't see this kind of volume from a few retail investors getting a little over-zealous.
I shorted $8.98 too. My thinking is simple: It's run too far too fast on NO NEW NEWS. It's up 50% just this week. I expect some profit taking today. If not, I'll cover and lose money. I think it's a high percentage trade though.
you are absolutely crazy - did you notice the double bottom that it completed on extrremely high volume 2 days in a row? Did you notice that it blew through resistance yesterday? Did you notice that it finished 2 cents from the high of the day yesterday? Did you forget about their dividend?

The short position is under 1%. ONLY the novice and stupid would short the LCOS technology and the partners invested in here. The stock could pull back but I am betting on it blasting a lot higher. MOST good investors will wait for weakness before shorting. THIS is a full blaze fire sale here. True hedge funds are buying and I have a list for shorts. The trend , momentum, technology, partners, pipeline, ((((FUNDEMENTALS))))), research , targets, analyst all believe this is the place to be. GOOD luck kizzing my REARRRRR here. I know the facts...... The charts are all you got that say it could pull back against maintains of positive news and excitement on design wins and product releases.
