Android Community notes that Rochester sent out a questionnaire last week, which intended to gauge what users would be looking for in custom lenses. Current Glass users were asked about materials, tinting, and all manner of options we’d usually get with normal lenses at an optometrist. Users are also provided the option to select the shape of the lenses, making for a unique experience.
Google itself is committed in bringing prescription lenses to Glass, but using a different approach. Google will apply the tech and moved it to another frame.
In Android Community’s report, it noted that Rochester suggests all they need for the lenses is your prescription and there would be no dismantling of Glass that needs to occur. The Android-focused news site says that Rochester seems to be right when it comes to its pricing and meets the need for prescription lenses that Glass enthusiasts has longed for.
