I just this minute stumbled across this stock. Was researching a couple of funds for investing in and noticed this as one of the holdings. Can I get some honest imput positive or negative. On the surface I like what I see.
Glad to see you aboard. This is 20% of my portfolio. Found it on my own a couple years ago. Frankly, the KISS approach. Growth, earnings, potential. And I've visited Mexico and seen first hand how popular cell is... folks who don't have a land line, ever, but they've got cell.
This one's a keeper, through recessions and all. Never gonna sell unless the underlying fundamentals change.
Beats what I can say about some of the US companies I've invested in, expecting growth, only to be delivered R&D expenses and "next Q" vague statements.
Don't like their lack of complete transperency, but it works.
Welcome aboard. Glad to have you.
I hope your not too late, because like you, I stumbled onto AMX through mutual funds last week and began researching it. I'm now on board with my first 400 shares.
I like AMX's steady and long-term growth potential.
As you can see this is a real rising star, very big money to be made here, over 83,000,000 subscribers, a very young Co. with Mr. Slim (fourth richest man in the world)as the CEO, last Q increased over 9,000,000 subscribers and the last 5 days has increased by over 10% on pps.
A thanks guy, thats the type of info I like to see, after doing some of my own DD and with all your help I re-purchased 1000 shares under 26 yesterday, looking for more. This is also a recommendation in one of my subscriptions, has been for a while, I bought some right after he first recd in March of 04 but sold half in July 05 the low 20's (90%) been looking for a re purchase since. Not that I am a big TA guy but this looked like a good opportunity with possible cup w handle forming. I believe I will see and increase in his buy to price.
Have a Great Day.
Ah good to see you too. Navelier recd this in early 04 i traded out but probebly should have just held on. Back in for a start now.
What else are you in? SU/VLO have been my shining stars for the last year or so. NAV recd Goog (which was a shock not his typical rec) at 294 and its been on a tear since??
Good Luck my cyber friend.
Besides the fundys mentioned by other posters, note that Carlos Slim owns the majority interest in America Movil. This is his baby. If you don't know, he is one of the 5 richest men in the world and the richest man in Latin America. He is very savvy ans smart.
I'm 33 and this is my largest holding, started about 2 years ago. I'm overweighted on this probably too much, but this is truly a company with double digit growth waaay into the future. May be sacrificing outerspace profits for now, but subscriber growth and their hook into these people who are lucky to have a land line is amazing.
Travel to latin america. Most folks may not have a telephone at home, let alone phone lines running past their home. But they've got cell phones!!!!!!
And with WiMax in the next couple of years, this will propel wireless networks to deliver data and commincations wirelessly to folks who have never had both.
Buy it, and you won't regret it!
FWIW, I am one of those folks who got this as the spinoff from TMX. And then I got it myself with the free step up in May of 2002. I also probably am a lil heavy in it at 37% of my portfolio. But dawg gone it is hard not to want to put more in it :)
I use msn.moneycentral also to "watch" my portfolio. The fairly accurate/not scientfic numbers show 334% increase since may 2002 and a 54% increase this calendar year. Granted I do not see how it can do this well forever, but gosh that would be neat, Eh?
