This is a great article in Forbes by Vlad, Nuan's CTO: http://www.forbes.com/sites/ciocentral/2013/01/11/beyond-voice-recognition-its-the-age-of-intelligent-systems/?partner=yahootix
The one thing he doesn't write about is Nuan's role extending beyond improving the accuracy of VR and NLU as the input into Intelligence Systems. Clearly, you've got titans like IBM, Google, MS and Apple all sailing in these waters. Perhaps with their purchase of VirtuOz, Nuan is charting a course that will take them out into these seas with the big boys. That space between providing the voice input and launching one of many possible applications and then deciding what to do next is huge. I suppose that even Vlad doesn't know how far Naun can go... or should go... but it does point out some very interesting possibilities.
