If nuan drops any further I would not be surprised if aapl or msft offers a buyout. Honestly, I have watched this stock for a long time and enjoyed the ride up to 30 (bought low and sold as it went up ...only had a few shares left at 30). I like the tech, but the management overhead seems too high and the tech itself would probably do better under a larger umbrella. AAPL, MSFT, and IBM have the cash and both AAPL and MSFT shareholders are hoping to see their respective companies invest for the future.......
....but, I doubt anything will happen. I will begin to buy shares if it drops any lower!!! (I will wait to see if it goes to 19 and then reassess).
One more note....what worries me most about nuan is that this should be the time when everything is coming together for them and they should be getting money back for all their investments (dozens of buyouts...years of research, and lots of partnerships). So, yes, I am disappointed and think it is time for them to be bought out by a company that can put the technology to work with deeper pockets and advertising structures (as suggested above).
No one will buy this dinosaur in it's present state. What this company needs is a competent leader and Ricci is not the one. I've been saying this for almost a year now. He has no clue how to grow a company organically.
