The interesting question regarding Icahn is how big a loss , if any, in NUAN does he now have? I would think not much, given that his initial purchases were probably around 20.00 and he could have added another 1% ro his holdings today at somewhat lower levels. He still lists himself as a passive investor.
doubt he's under water on this one, and if he is its not by much. His position was reported when the stock was sitting around 18-19. I also don't think he was surprised by earnings. He may have a "passive" position, but billionaire fund managers tend to know things before retail investors. NUAN has a shitload of potential based on the technology they have. Management sucks, and Ricci will be ousted soon enough. Longterm, Icahn will be right on this one. Whether he personally makes the stock move up ahead of schedule is yet to be determined, but he is known to take mismanagement of his investments VERY personally.
From what i have heard it's a large position n ow after adding today. I just bought some today after such a big drop. Icahn has a way of moving a stock price sooner or later. At this level i am willing to wait and see what happens. Nik
No, actually in his earlier filing on April 1, 2013, disclosed owning 9.27% as of that date. So he has only added 1.45% since then. Hopefully, for him he added today rather than earlier. He did really move the share price in the beginning of April, be interesting to see what impact he has the second time around.
