    NUAN...in the week just passed.

I'm writing this on Thursday night. Several doctors' appt's prevent me from being with you today...

With Thursday's close, the money flow indicator has leveled off [from its "tora-tora-tora" suicide trajectory] and with any encouragement, could very well e putting in a bottom...however short in duration. It's no news to anyone that NUAN has been battered---so a bounce...even one of "the dead cat" variety would be in order. Though I still feel it would be short in duration.

If pushed by nothing more than a butterfly sneeze, NUAN could fall further---there is NO support anywhere on the chart for NUAN. None.

The MACD is turning ever-so slowly, but this is [currently] a knee-jerk reaction of the indicator; it occurs at the slightest hint of a price increase...even $.05 changes its course. Both MACD "lines" are separated by a wide divergence, so expect nothing dramatic to change the course of NUAN fo the mid term.

Now, if Ricci were "shown the door" tomorrow, the above scenario would not apply.

Mid-September's money flow number of a PLUS "67" is sharply contrasted by Thursday's close of a MINUS "20.70". That's almost 88 points in ONE DIRECTION [down] in a bit more than 33 days! So, using this money flow indicator, it is easy to see how far NUAN has fallen in positive money flow in such a short span of time.

The acc/dis is "E", the worse level, "A" being the best. The up vs down volume indicator is at 0.7...an indicator of 1.0 or more means a stock is being accumulated.

All the technical indicators I monitor show a negative for NUAN. For how long?

Apparently, as long as it takes.

Find something fun to occupy you this weekend---like manning the phone for a suicide hotline.

    Gallows humor ;-}

    • I don't get it. All the technical indicators reveal that it's gone down. Big deal. We know. It went down. A lot. What we need is to know when it's going up. I guess technical indicators can't tell the future. So why bother watching them. Past is not prologue when it comes to the market.

A v-e-r-y good question. Here's why reading and understanding charts and technical analysis is so essential.

In reality, every day the stock market is open, from the hours of 9:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. eastern time, you are witnessing human nature and mod psychology at work. This may make a very small impact on the viewer, unless it happens to be your stock that is involved! So, let's delve deeper into the psychology of charts and T/A.

When you go to the doctor for your annual check-up, he/she will take your vitals. Blood pressure, heart/pulse rate, respiration, temperature, etc. These are the basics---"the fundamentals" of your current state of health, if you will.

Once these results are taken into consideration, your physician may need to test you further, particularly if you came in with a particular ailment. If severe enough, he/she will ask for an EKG, EEG, MRI, CT Scan, X-ray and so on. In a similar way, maps have been drawn up for centuries to help people realize just where they are and where they wish to go.

In just about every field [except politics, apparently] there are tools and data and patterns which help people evaluate conditions, current in historical, that can, in many cases, help the individual make the correct decision on which way to proceed. A stocks price and volume are recorded on different types of charts, to assist in this process. Other "technical" indicators are always being devised in search of the "perfect" way to see a stock. Is it strong, healthy and under accumulation, or is it weak and performing erratically?

investing in anything, but particularly in stocks, one needs a specific idea on how to discern what is a "good" and a "not so good" investment. Many times, too many indicators confuse the investor and only serve to frustrate their intentions.

I'm running out of space here. See my next post.

    • good post, opal

    • Maybe NUAN not a relevant chart candidate. No mans land type action, all appearing to be positioning, take out stops, take out technical, My understanding is that especially in the thinly followed stocks the algorithms can be beaten by other algorithms like the flash trade debacle. Hard to figure when a nano second is the basic time measurement. These things go thru a thousand years of cycles when there are no fundamentals, anecdotal or empirical. This will be reset at earnings, better or worse. CC is late for a reason, for sure. 2013 was 11/10 as I recall. They don't need 2 months to get the math done, something much bigger.

    • Maybe NUAN has slipped off the "chart relevant" list for the time being. I presume PCLN, NFLX, AMZN chartists bailed out of all of those positions long before it got to where it is? History of course is a great teacher, until it isn't!! Hope you Dr's visits went well! "No Mans Lands"

    • Thanks Opal, add to the negative stats is the fact that Ricci is announcing Q4/FY earnings really to the end of the reporting deadline. This $@&? just thumbs his nose at all of us and I guarantee we'll see Form 4's from these shmucks in the coming weeks prior to ER. Get your turkey early as Richy Ricci looks to spoil Thanksgiving.

      • Investors may have to get their turkeys early, but the medical transcriptionists who have the misfortune of being bought out by Nuance and are trying to live on minimum wage jobs may not be able to buy turkeys at all! Mr. Ricci has been thumbing his nose at us for years! Medical transcriptionists are jumping ship in droves! Hope the hospital clients are happy with transcription being done in India or they will be jumping ship in droves!
