FACT: Sun Pharma really, really, REALLY wants TARO (as evidenced by some of their not-so-above-board tactics the past few years).
FACT: Sun has low-balled every offer for TARO stock they have presented to shareholders (remember, not too long ago they "offered" something like $ 12 per share, claiming it was a "premium" price and "warning" that if we all didn't accept, we'd probably lose everything).
I've held shares of TARO in a speculative portfiolio for more than 5 years. I've bought-in at price points ranging everywhere from $ 5 to $ 15 per share.
I agree with Grand Slam Asset Management... the current offer does not accurately reflect the true value of this company... Sun Pharma is once again trying to get their claws into the remaining outstanding shares at a steeply discounted price.
My minimum goal for TARO has always been $ 30, and I still think a target in the $ 45 - $ 50 per share range over the next few years is realistic.
So, sorry Sun.... I'm again holding-out for a more reasonable and fair offer. If you really want TARO that badly, then offer a realistic price for my (and other stockholder) shares. If you don't, then either the price will continue to rise on performance, or a better suitor will eventually emerge.
i am in the same position,we took huge risk in the past 5 years and now sun wants to buy cheap.we want taro traded on nasdaq ,only this move will take the stock to 30$.if the board will not act in favore of the company , .........!!!!!!!
