Were there manipulations at the close in Taro’s trading?
About a minute before the market close, Taro’s price was $56. And then by “magic” a bid and an ask of $55.10 found each other and a transaction made in hell was executed, for a decline of $.90 or %1.6 in one tick- very unusual for Taro, especially lacking any n ews and when the market was up.
The probability of such an event happening innocently is very slim, and such a manipulation is easy to device when the volume is so light- a person with two accounts can do it- one account issues ’sell at $55.1’ and the other ’ buy at $55.1’* almost at the same time.-that’s it.
Unless the SEC investigates we will not know for sure what exactly happened, but we know very well who can benefit from a depressed Taro’s share, and does the “guy“ who is doing it lives in Mauritius ?
