At the annual meeting on Thursday, May 9, 2013, a question was asked to Gary Cavey pertaining to the cost of the lease at the new headquarters and the building at 4350 McKinley. Gary said he did not know the cost of the lease and moved on to the next question. I find it strange that the CEO of Ballantyne would not know the cost of either. Both of the contracts were entered into within the last year, and I would consider both events significant. I would assume Gary would have been involved in the negotiation of the contracts. I can tell you the cost of my house that I purchased several years ago and a very close approximation of the payment. I can tell you the cost of the automobiles I have purchased and the approximate payment. I ask you shareholders, do you remember the purchase price of your first home or car and the approximate cost of the payments? So either Gary is a liar and was hiding something or is not very bright. You be the judge. What are your thoughts?
btn...... not having a handle on major costs is really poor for any CEO, but it is particularly noticeable for a small company like BTN with so few facilities...... JMO, but it sounds like the question could have been handled much better by turning it over to Mary C.
