    Re: More-on options

    This is what I said:

"Serious investors who have done their homework have always known about the dilutive effects of options and their widespread use."

Exactly what does this have to do with the general public? You think all there is in investing is opening up a Barron's or a Wall Street Journal, picking a company with a low PE and/or a good chart, and buying it? Well, a long time ago I did, and learned better. Those who don't dig deeply into these things are going to underperform those who do, and how options are expensed will not affect this.

This is not self serving at all - it is a red herring of an issue when applied to make buy/sell decisions on companies that are not trading on this basis. You want to know where IDPH will be in a couple of years, look at Rituxan growth, Zevalin growth, and contributions (if any) from the pipeline. There is no serious proposal I have seen that suggests that options issued years ago are now going to have to be subtracted off present earnings. Any such rule would apply to future options, which will change the way IDPH's competition does their options, and reduce the pressure to keep up with the Jones's.
