J.K. and Margin, you owe the guy an apology. He is correct about what he post. He was not refering to the artical. And I also saw it. I went and looked after he posted, so you need to research before you start slaming people.
This is the article I thing you should go back to school and learn to read correctly.
Arena Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ARNA) won Food and Drug Administration approval last month for Belviq, a treatment affecting an area of the brain that helps a person feel full after consuming less food. With the first weight-loss drug to be cleared for sale in the U.S. in 13 years, Arena is projected by analysts to increase revenue 18-fold in the next four years, the fastest growth in the world among specialty pharmaceutical companies greater than $1 billion, according to data compiled by Bloomberg
It says "with the first weight loss drug for sale in 13 years", not for sale in 13 years. You read it wrong, personally I don't like the way it was written in the first place. I mean the whole article; just my opinion. I felt like someone owned VVUS while writing it.
The article did bring up the other two competitors to try to include them in the mix. However the whole tone is definitely very positive on Belviq including quotes from those brokerage houses on Belviq's prospect. As to our competitor, we'll know the denial decision in 10 days or even sooner. They are no threat at all. Just note VVUS senior management all sold their shares like no tomorrow. In this case, they are right as there is no future for Q.
It is laughable to make up something you saw AFTER Bloomberg's more than favorable article just out. Don't even try. See how all the brokerage houses have accepted (as quoted in the article), may be grudgingly, Belviq is a blockbuster drug which will attract buyout from large pharmas. Cover your short and go long. It is still not late at all to make money long ARNA. The firework has just begun. Enjoy the sight and enjoy the ride!
