I have been a licensed broker for over 20 years and I can tell you a few things here, firstly, this stock makes me money, it has every prospect of continuing this trend unless you noisy shorts or day traders and quick profit geeks screw it up for the rest of us. Take a look at the prospects for future revenues and profits, the market is forward looking. This is not Facebook with a questionable revenue model, no this company has every potential to market a product that people will want, many people. If you want to manipulate something go to the casino and grab a handle and pull it to get your gratification otherwise remember that the stock market is over 240 years old and it is smarter than you are, so like in life - buy quality stuff and enjoy it for awhile and see what happens.
Hmm after the close I see where there were 24 million shares traded and the stock goes nowhere, so there was money made and lost in these trades but the substance of this post shows the story, the people with conviction just get screwed in what otherwise would have been a profitable day - by the happless trades of a bunch of dummies.
You aren't under the impression the Hedge Fund Shorts (around 39million last count) are trying to keep a lid on the institutional accumulation thereby keeping current PPS down or constant?
I just can't believe they were able to pull this off, IMO Hedgies won the battle today but they are going to lose this WAR!
are you suggesting that the average retail holder, the happless trader as you put it, is responsible for 24 million share volume?
Wow, I'd like to know those retailers. We have to party on their retail megayacht drinking their retail million dollar shots of vodka ;)
As a stock broker you should know, us retails have no control over ARENA.
This to me seemed like a battle between Hedge Fund Shorts and Institution Longs, opening a new position or increasing their position.
We have gone up in institutional ownership over the last 3 business days a considerable amount, 24% Friday close, 24.5% Monday Close, 26.9% Tuesday Close, and now 31.06% Wednesday Open.
Not to mention the fact that all of this data is around 6 weeks old, my guess is we are really around at least 40% institutional ownership, the timing makes sense since the CC was last Thursday, tutes had meetings to decide how to proceed after it, we can obviously see their decision in the PPS swing yesterday.
nice post, most new issues like this after $5 in price become (by prospectus or by investment committee) available for accumulation by Institutionals, the Broker Dealers will also hold large amounts of stock for in house settlement and rehypothecation of the underlying. This then on a retail level sets the stage for the secondary issue offering where the larger investment community participates greatly. The limited offering from Arena was meant to secure the future of the product and provide the float to achieve the second payment from eisai.
Deeptinker huh? Must be a shortie, I don't mind that other side of the trade methodology, except in higher volume days you remove much of the charting potential of a newsy stock, so then you make people who are knowledgeable rely more on the hype and less on the fundamentals and technicals, like I said any questions?
