Cramer talks about QuestCor Pharma. (QCOR). In 2005, QCOR was a .50 stock and as of today, is a little above $51. The company has one drug on the market called Acthar, a sort of “wonder drug” gel, that treats 19 (yes, 19) different conditions. But if you’ve been following the stock, you know it got beat up in July. Why? Cramer explains that rumors on the web “revealed” that a cheaper, generic drug to Acthar was coming and the shortsellers knocked the stock down. But if you did your homework, then you’d also know (as Cramer tells us today) that getting a new drug approved to market by the FDA takes two years. Plus, to get a new drug into the market that treats 19 different conditions requires 19 different clinical trails – no easy feat. As Acthar is an ophan drug – a drug treating a small segment of people that the gov’t throws incentives at – QCOR is set to “shoot through the roof.”
