Quick post, back from vacation. My neighbor called me today to find out how vacation was and if I could help him split some logs this weekend if he rents the splitter and buys the beer. I said "what about the drug"!. He says "oh, ya thats got me starting to worry". I said "why" he said it usually doesnt take this long and I dont have much to do until its done. I say "so your only worried about your job and not my investment (kidding around). He said well, there is a rumor in the office that it is taking so long because the DEA is considering making it a non scheduled drug. They are reviewing all the data. He says he really does not care at this point he just wants is done either way. I questioned him about the scheduling and he claims he heard it from 2 people but JUST BECAUSE 2 PEOPLE SAID IT DOES NOT MAKE IT TRUE!.
I asked about insurance coverage and he put it like this. He say she was speaking with an inaurance guy who told him. "your problem is that no one wants to cover a drug unless they have to and no one wants to be first to pull the trigger. once one of the big carriers gives it the green light more will follow but only good results will lead to that" Well that's it for now. Nothing confidential here just the thoughts and rumors of a sales guy. Have a good day all.
the data has been reviewed and the recommendation made by both FDA and DEA. Sammie, I thought you were for real with your neighbor but this is so far off the track I have to rethink you and your neighbor's contribution here. Never in history has this happened nor is there a chance that it could here. Though if anyone wanted to screw ARNA, EISAI and the public, this would be a way to do it.
Unscheduled unlikely, but would be tremendous! It would be one way to get the Arena addicts off their backs and to receive flowers instead of "your stupid" mail. Also nice to hear Eisai reps have a positive rumor floating about.
STB - always enjoy your comments.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
It just doesn't make sense that the DEA would backtrack on it's original proposed schedule IV. There were no comments received that would have made a convincing enough argument to sway the DEA IMO. Just finalize schedule IV and be done with it.
I can think of a reason they would change their stated intent- a tight budget. It costs money/resources to manage a drug under schedule. A leaner, meaner DEA that aught to be focused on cocaine and herion, and truly dangerous perscription drugs like oxycotin, really shouldn't have time for a drug that actually helps control addiction.
Just a thought.
mansbauch and a few others are clearly causing some problems. Shouldn't be much to worry about when all is said and done. As far as the schedule V, no chance in my view. More likely a 3 but that wont happen either.
