What can Arena management do about the stock's poor performance? Our competitors' stock price rises on our good news, when their CEO resigns, and when one competitor has no product to market. Then the stock muddles around lower highs for the last six months.
I thought Belviq sales were the answer but this has been disproven with weekly sale increases offset by the incomplete SEC filing on APD811 and subsequent refiling and naked shorting of the stock. Then, I was reminded by The Street (finally-some-great-news-for-amarin-at-arena-pharmas-expense) how bad we are doing.
Oh ! My broker points out that I have lost $300,000 plus this year on this stock. I tell him to be patient, there will be a buyout by big Pharma or Arena management may issue a dividend to stop the naked shorting and failure to deliver - then I will recoup my losses.
I am disappointed that Arena management has not used the tools available to mitigate or stop naked shorting and fails to deliver. What is the long term plan, I don't see it. What is Arena's long term goal related to share price?
I look forward to the CEO sharing his vision for increasing shareholder value in the near future.
If they have a plan, they are not sharing it with us. I have written twice to arena for info and have yet to get a response. I have 140K shares and want to hear arena leaders to respond to their shareholders. You can not watch T V without seeing commercials for the best blender or cook top. But none for Belviq ???? One commercial with a good spokesperson is what we need to get this blockbuster going.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
140K shares? in a company that never even bothers to respond to any of the inquiries? You're brave! I had 12K but sold half at a huge loss - just got really nervous about how they handle the IR issues. Reminds me of the Chinese scams but even those would reply every once in a while. Have not heard back from ARENA even once!
Agreed, I also have emailed a few times without response, last time advising they need a cheer leader and some television marketing. Why not a stock buy back to show confidence, just do something! We need more Arena longs to email and demand management step up tyo the plate. I am long and buying on these low pps.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
The CEO of a publicly traded company's primary job is to ensure share holder value. I salute Arena management for getting a product to market, a herculean task. I am confident over time facts will win out over FUD and manipulation, but, Jack Leif, as distasteful as it may be to a scientist to play Wall Street games, has a responsibility to protect his investors. He has taken a moral stand against the Mayor of San Diego who has proved to be a womanizing idiot. He should take a equal or greater stance against those illegally and immorally trading in his (our) company's stock. He has options and if played would quickly run off the riff-raff and return the company to a fair market value. Time to set down the beaker and pick up the spreadsheet. Investor patience is not limitless. Take Care!
I should have been clear. This is a paper loss. I have sold no shares. I beat Wall Street early by buying 1.00 options and selling when the stock was around 9.50. I then took the profits and bought more Arena shares. My intent was sharing how personal fortunes are affected by Arena's management inaction and miscues. I am long. I bought in at 1.25.
I have been all over IR, Jack and their do-nothing corp council with the same issues. Jack needs to retire, he's in over his head. IR is nice, but also in over her head. Corp council should have taken actions to eliminate, prevent, reduce naked shorting, but has not. These people need to be replaced by stronger, tested, proven biotech pros that will protect shareholders and enhance ARNA's value. These shorts are rotten, extremely well-funded and driven to crush ARNA, so ARNA must employ the best talent to defeat them.
Then what are you crying about. If you bought in at the low of the ages 1.25 then you must be extremely smart, So at 6.50 versus 1.25 you are up 5.25. Your post is a complete sham and still you are trying to help us . Please get your bs story straight. LIAR
You lost money because you sold too early. (If you havent sold then you havent lost money) If you can't see that DTC advertising will be the game changer then you shouldn't have been in this stock as an investment. But you were probably in in as a trader so you got what you deserved.
Who cares if it a paper loss? I'm still writing off a 4200k loss I incurred 10 years ago with CTIC. I got bad information from the CEO. He was prosecuted by the SEC. 3 grand a year is what I get from that now. If ARNA goes way up I could sell about $150k worth and would not have to pay taxes on the gain. So there is a silver lining.
so why would you contact ARNA's injured reserve squad? Management has been clear and one
PR per year should be sufficient for everyone to know that all they need to do is execute. If everyone would stop bothering them they could get to work on that.
actually, if they had listened 2 years ago when shareholders were telling to get started on Lor-Phen, they would be further along. It was shareholders who told them to focus on responders, not mean weight loss. Shareholders have been giving them many good ideas and they keep doing/saying stupid things.
