Lets face it, todays young investors have very little patience. They buy because they heard about this stocks great potential short term. Guess what? After holding shares and no upward movement they get bored and sell. Older investors are willing to hold longer term, because they the big picture.
No it could not be manipulation by short hedge fund cause all small investors sell in increments and buy in solid shares. And that might be true that younger investors will not hold but please explain, the constant shorting and reshorting and holding a third of the float hostage for over a year. Could it be there is not much selling of real shares just short shares.
Owned this stock for five years now.....this is the same repeat pattern short and market makers have joined to manipulate the price. Trip stop losses, margins, and collect shares. And you are correct about the impatient investors who can't hold long if it drops 2%. I have seen this trade pattern a least twenty times or more over the years. You can bet institutions are buying, and retail longs still are buying. Personally I have all I should buy to keep a correct balance in my portfolio and am not buying at this time. It's not an easy stock to hold mid to short term, but it is a buy at this level.
