MusclePharm has switched their 3rd party testing certification to Informed Choice/HFL labs which is another highly accrediated lab and testing process. They have also increased the number of products they are having tested. Many companies shift from NSF to Informed Choice because NSF is way over-priced in their fees. Informed Choice/HFL is an ISO 17025 lab.
Look at page 90-91 for the list of certified products.
That's what you are basing fraction of the cost on? I'm looking for real information here not some blog.
Do you have any better sources are is that it?
Has Musclepharm addressed this issue yet? I don't see where they have. That would be nice.
Why would you doubt the NSF? They have been in business for over 60 years. They reach far beyond supplements as well. They are far more rigorous than IC.
Are you doubting them because they just dropped Musclepharm?
And I was reading another board and it looks like IC has dropped them as well.
Where is your information coming from that they are only going with IC for certification when they have just been dropped by them?
I must ask why the NFL and MLB recognize NSF as a gold standard when the NFL put out a list of companies in March that no player can endorse or partner with because the supplement companies have had banned substances in their products..
Optimum Nutrition was on that list of banned companies who use banned substances, yet Optimum Nutrition is an NSF, and GMP production facility certified company.. You can't make NSF products in a facility with banned substances whether its in one product or many it still compromises the integrity of the whole facility...
I am starting to doubt the abilities of NSF
They are both well respected labs. As the sports dietitian for 2 professional sport franchises, and a D1 college athletics dept, I've met with reps from both NSF and HFL/Informed Choice.
NSF is more prestigous in the US and HFL/IC the UK. MLB and NFL recognize NSF as the gold standard but IC is a WADA ISO 17025 lab. I've met with Paul Klinger (Informed Choice) and Dave Hall (HFL) and their testing procedures are top notch.
It's a very smart economical move for MP since IC/HFL doesn't charge the outrageous fees that NSF does making it more attractive to switch.
EAS added them along with Advocare. I've spoken to several top companies who indicated the same on why they haven't used NSF.
It appears that Musclepharm is no longer certified free of banned substances from any testing organization. If this is a cost saving move it's the last place they should be cutting costs.
And the NSF is a farm more prestigious organization than Informed Choice but since Musclepharm is neither NSF or Informed Choice Certified that point is somewhat mute.
This is a sad turn of events and not good for the short or long term direction of the company.
i wish your post was true! thats an old list of products you have by several months.. pull up informed choice site MP is no longer affiliated. I hope they become certified again soon but as of now are not!
See the bottom notation. I found out from Informed Choice they are almost through the final process to have full certification.
