    A more than 10% drop and a news conference - What is happening?

    • Well, basically the Brazil government is lowering what electric companies can charge to their customers. Bottom line is, EBR will be less profitable in the future. I'm in the same boat as you, which was panic. But, unless they are taking the company over, which they aren't, I am not selling. They hold too many assets and make too much money to be valued at what the Mr. Market is pricing them at. A few institutions recently bought large positions in EBR. While I am kicking myself since I got in earlier this year, I know in 5 years we will be above $12 a share. Brazil is more investor friendly than other South American countries but right now they are focused on stabilizing their economy and not so much providing profit to investors. This isn't such a bad thing since it will lead to greater efficiency within the company paving the way for greater return long term. I am not adding more at this point since it may continue to decline. But it is very oversold.
